Switch from Holley to AVS2
When I purchased my 71 Olds /350 last year the previous owner had replaced the Quadrajet with a 4160 Holley . It was not tuned correctly so we tuned it up and although it did work better there was still a major bog when you took off . As well it was always hard to start cold. The carb was switched to the AVS2 with the correct square bore to spread bore adapter with 4 holes . The Holley had an open plenum adapter which may have been part of the issue as well. The new carb fired right up and with some minor adjustments to the mixture and fast idle / idle screws it works very well. One pump and it fires cold . No bog or hesitation hot or cold . Under acceleration it pulls like a freight train. I am extremely pleased with the card and the service getting it to me so we could go cruising .
