- cold air intake
- quality piece
- throttle body
I bought my '96 Camaro with a cheap Ebay elbow and I replaced it with this much better quality piece. This oval end of this Spectre piece matches up perfectly with the throttle body inlet and he material it's made from is thick and robust. If you already have a cheapy cold air intake installed on your car you won't be able to reuse the silicone coupler that mounts the elbow to the throttle body. After some trial and error with some Vibrant brand couplers I discovered that the best fit and seal were achieved with a much thicker rubber/silicone coupler from the plumbing section of the hardware store. The joint between the elbow and throttle body is leak free and really solid this way. The best thing is that when I open up the hood the CAI looks like it belongs there instead of like a poorly executed imitation of something that someone saw in a magazine.
I have a Moroso cold air intake already installed and had to cut about 3 inches from the outlet tube to fit the elbow in. Once the elbow was installed the car ran great.
You never know when you'll need this...
